June 2006 in Columbus, Ohio, On Beads of Prayer sponsored a booth at the Episcopal General Convention. While we were there, the Military Chaplaincy of the Episcopal Church asked us to give prayer beads to the troops in harm’s way.

Enthusiastic volunteers from St. Alban’s and other parishes came together to make the prayer beads for the troops. Former Rector and Bishop Ted Eastman, chair of our Advisory Committee, blessed the beads; and on September 2006 our first shipment of prayer beads to the U.S. Military in Iraq was off! It was a great success!

We are proud to be recognized for our contribution to the spiritual lives our military. It isn't every little church group that earns its very own medal!
