The Right Reverend A. Theodore Eastman, D.D, L.H.D.,Chair
The Right Reverend Albert Theodore Eastman, a Californian, was graduated from Haverford College in 1950 and three years later, received a Master in Divinity degree from the Virginia Theological Seminary. He became Executive Secretary of the Overseas Mission Society of the Episcopal Church (OMS). He has served as Rector of the Church of the Mediator, Allentown, PA and St. Alban’s Parish, Washington, DC. He was elected Bishop Coadjutor of the Diocese of Maryland, and later became Diocesan Bishop. Bishop Eastman has also served as a Provost of the Washington National Cathedral, Executive Vice President of the Protestant Episcopal Cathedral Foundation, the parent corporation of the Cathedral, and in 2003-2004 as Vicar of the Cathedral during an interim period between Deans.
Bishop Eastman helped establish the College for Bishops. His ministry has been marked by a continuing concern for the mission and unity of the Christian Church. He served as Vice Chair of the Standing Commission on World Mission, Chair of the Presiding Bishop’s Fund for World Relief, Chair of the Standing Commission on Ecumenical Relations, and was co-chair of the Anglican-Roman Catholic Consultation in the United States. Bishop Eastman has served as a Trustee of the Virginia Theological Seminary, chaired the Council of the College of Preachers, has been a Visiting Fellow at the Episcopal Theological Seminary of the Southwest, and served as Board member of Listening Hearts Ministries.
Bishop Eastman is author of half a dozen books, including Christian Responsibility in One World, Chosen and Sent: Calling the Church to Mission, and The Baptizing Community: Christian Initiation and the Local Congregation. In his spare time, he is the steady hand chairing our Board of Directors!
Reverend Douglas A. Greenaway
The Reverend Douglas Andrew Greenaway completed his Master of Divinity at Wesley Theological Seminary, in Washington, DC, in May 2000 and was Ordained to the Holy Order of Priests in the Episcopal Diocese of Washington on December 10, 2000. He currently serves as Priest Associate at St. Paul’s Rock Creek Parish, as an Honorary Assistant at St. Paul’s K Street Parish and as an on-call Chaplain at Washington Hospital Center. Doug also serves as Executive Director of the NATIONAL WIC ASSOCIATION, NWA. WIC is a federal program providing nutrition education and other health care services to nearly 9 million low-income nutritionally at-risk women, infants and children each month. Doug teaches English as a Second Language to immigrants in Washington. In 2005, he was the inspiration behind and founder of this ministry, responding initially to a request from his son for a set of Anglican prayer beads.
The Reverend Dr. Stephanie J. Nagley, Ex Officio
Rev. Nagley has been the rector of St. Luke’s, Bethesda, Maryland since 2003. A native of the Pacific Northwest, her first career was nursing and she has a Bachelor and Master of Science, as well as a PhD in that field. She was on the faculty of Kent State University and Case Western Reserve University. A graduate of Virginia Theological Seminary, she was ordained in 1993. She served at St. James by the Sea, La Jolla, California and at St. Mark’s, Washington, DC. In addition to her parochial activities she has been involved on the diocesan level in each of the dioceses she has served. She was also one of the founding members of CREDO, serving as a member of the development committee for CREDO through the Church Pension Fund and as faculty.
Rev. Nagley describes her role as priest, teacher and pastor as a:
· Spiritual Leader – engaging the community in collective creativity so all may experience God’s Dream.
· Preacher and Teacher – making relevant the sacred story with intelligent, innovative proclamation.
· Sojourner – journey through life with a heart tuned for the Kingdom.

C. Raymond Marvin
C. Raymond Marvin, an attorney, is a private investor in the telecommunications field. He was graduated from University of Michigan School of Law in Ann Arbor in 1963. He has served in various fundraising capacities for the Washington National Cathedral. He is a member of the Cathedral Chapter. From 1975 to 1986 C. Raymond Marvin held the positions of Founding Executive Director and General Counsel of the National Association of Attorneys General in Washington, DC. He is an enthusiastic fundraiser for Democratic candidates. He is also our star cheerleader as well as the calm, experienced businessman with a large vision for our ministry.
The Reverend Joseph Pace
The Reverend Joseph Pace has been Rector of St. John's Church, West Hartford, CT since 1991. He formerly served churches in Tennessee: St. Luke's, Jackson; St. Raphael's, Crossville and St. George's, and Nashville. Joe is a graduate of the University of the South (BA), Sewanee, TN; General Theological Seminary (MDiv), New York City; and Hartford Seminary (MA), Hartford, CT. He is also an Associate of the Society of St. Margaret. Joe has a keen interest in the Muslim world and has traveled and participated in inter-faith conferences in the Middle East, central Asia and southeast Asia.
Anne Lee Smith (Didi)
Didi Smith is the creator of the ministry. She is a graduate of Boston University School of Public Communication. After a career in the anti-poverty programs, she formed her own financial planning and counseling business, broadening it to include fundraising, events planning, and crisis management. Didi and her husband Bob, a retired diplomat, then did full-time volunteer work. This has continued into On Beads of Prayer as they develop programs for parishes and groups nationwide.
The Reverend Barry Talley
The Reverend Barry Talley, a Pentecostal minister, is a graduate of The College of William and Mary. He earned a Master of Theological Studies degree from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C. A church musician and composer, Barry is also a linguist. He is an information systems specialist and software engineer at EDS, an HP company, where he has worked since 1985.
